SCHC is pleased to, once again, be participating in the Friday Night Lights as a key partner. This statewide effort is focused on drug prevention and education, designed to meet the needs of youth, their families and community members in Kent and Sussex counties. Throughout the month of October, select after-school high school football games will serve as the backdrop for this initiative, offering a unique platform to engage students, families, and community members in a familiar and accessible setting.
The initiative is built around the goal of raising awareness about the dangers of substance abuse and providing critical resources to help prevent drug use among young people. By leveraging the popularity of evening football games, Friday Night Lights offers an opportunity to reach a wide audience, creating a space where important conversations about prevention, general health and safety can take place.
At each event, educational booths, presentations, and interactive activities will be available, providing attendees with information about the risks of substance use and the services available for prevention and support. This initiative aims to empower youth and community members with the tools and knowledge to make informed decisions, fostering a healthier, more resilient community.
