Request for Proposals (RFP):
Overview
The Sussex County Health Coalition invites proposals for the "Let's Get Healthy Sussex" Mini-Grants. These grants aim to promote healthy lifestyles through innovative community-based initiatives. Funding is available in three categories based on the scope and scale of the proposed activity.
Grant Categories
- Small Events ($250)
- For community events focused on promoting a healthy lifestyle.
- Examples include nutrition education sessions, short workshops, or small-scale wellness events.
- Medium-Sized Events ($500)
- For larger, full-day events that promote healthy lifestyles, including physical activity.
- Examples include community health fairs, wellness festivals, or interactive fitness activities.
- Extended Programs ($1,000–$2,500)
- For programs providing up to 3 months or more of physical fitness classes (1–2 times per week for 1 hour).
- Programs must target an average class size of 12–15 participants.
- Examples include yoga, aerobics, or strength training sessions for specific community groups.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be nonprofit organizations, schools, or community groups serving Sussex County, Delaware.
- Proposals must align with the goals of increasing physical activity and promoting healthy lifestyles, particularly in underserved or marginalized communities.
Funding Requirements
- Funding must be used exclusively for activities outlined in the proposal.
- All events and programs must include measurable outcomes related to physical activity or healthy lifestyle promotion.
Application Process

- Applications open February 1, 2024. Visit www.sussexcoalition.org to access the application form.
- Submission Deadline:
- The online application will open on February 1st, 2025 and will not close until all funds are used. All funding must be used by September 1st, 2025.

Reporting and Accountability
- Final Report: Grant recipients must submit a report upon completion of the funded activity, detailing the outcomes achieved, participant feedback, and budget utilization.
- For extended programs, a mid-term progress report is required.
